Performer Details
CHRISTINE HESS and CAROL VAN AUSDAL - Vocalist/guitarist and fiddler from Heartstrings, an acoustic group that plays Celtic, Appalachian and other ethnic traditional music on a variety of instruments. They will be doing some originals and a few covers.

GEORGE BIERI - - a Yellow Springs native and resident with a long history of acoustic slide performances on Dobro and archtop guitars in traditional blues and delta-style blues. He performs blues classics from Johnnie Shines, Robert Johnson, Elmore James, Ry Cooder, John Fahey, Tampa Red, and Black Ace as well as a few originals. Joined by Tim Eschliman on bass & guitar, and others.

DAVID SCHUMACHER - In his own words: "My family has been in music for generations. It's in my blood. When I hear it, I can play it, even though I can't read a note. I guess I'm really a story teller who likes to play guitar. I collect songs like some folks collect stamps. I like the rare ones, the ones that really tell the story about experiences of the heart that resonate with everyone."

MARK LAURENS & ZYDECO FIRE - Mark first cut his musical chops playing lead guitar in bands like the Blues Messenger and the zydeco band, The Other White Meat Playboys. He taught himself accordion and founded the zydeco band Kiko Rio in 1997 with current guitarist Phil Tracy. Kiko Rio became well known in the Dayton area, and disbanded in July 2004, but Mark, with a fresh start, founded Zydeco Fire to keep his musical fire burning. Also with Joe Donley, B.J.Walters, and Carl Schumacher.

DR. SKILLET - Byron Crews, Carl Schumacher & Donn Steinhilber. This funky little trio from YSO joined forces back in 2000 and has been delighting fans ever since. "The Little Band with a Big Sound" offers up a sweet organic blend of roots-rock based blues and funky soul grooves. From classic covers to classy originals, these guys will surely make ya get out on the dance floor and shake your thang. There is a doctor in the house!

PAUL'S APARTMENT - Take a microbiologist, drummer dude, industrial engineer and a psychologist and what do you get? A butt-kicking, Groovin' Acoustic Rock Jam band! Oooyea! This foursome has been rocking Yellow Springs for over four years now and are still going strong! With Donna Lynn's harmonious sultry vocals, Tim Callahan's sweet guitar licks, Neil Thompson's perfect bass thumps and Greg 'Duke' Dewey pulsing the beats you are sure to be pleased!

DEWEY/ESCHLIMAN/BOERSTLER/SCHUMACHER/SHAW - Greg Dewey and Tim Eschliman (the Reptile Bros & Christmas Jug Band) plus John Boerstler (Men of Liesure), Carl Schumacher and Russ Shaw (Natural Facts) bring on some Rock & Roll, Blues, and R&B with Tucki Bailey and other guests. See what's Up Their Sleeve! (Tucki is featured at the Dayton Women in Jazz Fest and is the composer and musical director for the Y. S. Kid's Playhouse).

NERAK ROTH PATTERSON - A living reflection of the Blues that stems much deeper than the music itself. As a prolific songwriter and musician, Nerak Roth's songs bear the soul of one who has not only 'lived' the Blues, but of one who has studied the blues history. He's played with B. B.King, Corey Harris and Guy Davis.(appearance TBA)

WG BLUES UNIT- Bassist Gerry Greene and guitarist Gary Williams with Mark Crockett (harmonica), Melissa Young (vocals) and Jake "The SnakeÓ Shumaker (drums). Though they call Yellow Springs home base, they can be seen throughout the Greater Miami Valley and beyond. With their finely tuned music-making Blues Unit, they have been rockin' the blues together with the "W-G" at the helm for over 2 years.
